(By Jakob Marschner) - Rovereto’s Sports Palace could not hold all the people when Medjugorje visionary Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti visited the Italian town on November 13. It took a video link to a giant screen in a nearby church to make room for everyone. Marija called for a new culture, in the hours when Berlusconi was replaced as Italy’s Prime Minister.
“We need a new culture” Medjugorje visionary Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti stated in Rovereto, Italy, on Sunday – about the same time when economist and former EU
Commissioner Mario Monti was named to replace Silvio Berlusconi as Prime Minister and head of the Italian government.
But whereas Monti, a professor of economy, will attend to mundane matters in attempting to save Italy from a lurming debt disaster, Marija pointed to pursuing spiritual growth as the way to go in individual lives:
“We need a new culture with so much love of God in our lives” Marija said, according to the local newspaper Corriere del Trentino. She lamented that many “believe only in money and the superficiality of mere pursuit of beauty’” and pointed to the modern society without a God, but with abortion, divorces, and young people without joy and faith.
At the same time Marija addressed the crowd in Rovereto’s sports hall, estimated to 4,000 people by Corriere del Trentino and to between 2,000 and 3,000 by local newspaper L’Adige – and the people gathered in the nearby Church of the Holy Family where a giant screen transmitted a video link from the sports hall.
“As expected by organizers, the influx was massive. People filled the stands and occupied every chair in the field. People were sitting on more than half of the pews in the Church of the Holy Family where a giant screen was set up” L’Adige reports.
Traffic in the area was heavily regulated for the occasion, with normal parking lots closed and new ones opened. Four brigades of police officers ensured this traffic regulation and Red Cross volunteers were also in place.
Thousands of prayer intentions were collected and laid at the feet of the statue of the Virgin Mary, placed on the stage. Marija’s apparition before the statue lasted six minutes, Corriere del Trentino reports.
Marija received no message from the Virgin Mary but the Virgin gave her blessing to all the people present.
“Carry it into your homes” Marija said, according to L’Adige.
