Thoughts of Mary

LAKEWOOD,COLORADO – In as much as a creature is capable, the Blessed Virgin Mary is of one heart and one mind with God. She is in perfect harmony with the will of God. Being sinless in her thoughts, in her words, and in her actions, she has always perfectly thought, spoken and done everything that God desired of her. God gifted her with the graces needed to be the mother of Jesus and also to be a model for us of what we are to strive for in our spiritual journey.

Just as God entrusted her to be the mother of Jesus, He also entrusted her to be our mother, the mother of the Mystical Body of Christ, of which we, the believers, are the members. As a mother she loves us more than we love ourselves or more than we could ever love her. She knows the way to our heavenly glory better than any one of us could ever know, with all our human wisdom. She desires our eternal happiness more than we do, even in the holiest moments in our life. Therefore, it is prudent for us to accept her motherly care and guidance, because her goal for us is that we be in union with Jesus.

Those who consecrate their lives to Holy Mary and humbly submit to her maternal guidance advance with giant steps in the spiritual life. Such was the case with three of our modern most saintly people: John Paul II, Mother Teresa, and Maximilian Kolbe. She loves us with the same tender love with which she loves Jesus. She will obtain for us the blessings we need for holiness through her powerful intercession. There is no better intercessor than Holy Mary because she is the channel through which God distributes graces to mankind. She knows precisely how to direct our steps in the way of virtue because she is the mother of “the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”

If you take Holy Mary into your heart and soul, and allow her to make her home in you, there you will also find Jesus, because Jesus and Mary are inseparable. It has been this way since Gabriel, the angelic messenger, came to obtain her “fiat” to being the mother of the Incarnate Word. Mary and Jesus are inseparable in heaven also, because the unity of Jesus and Mary is sealed with Divine Love, a love that does not diminish with the passage of time. It does not wane with the changing of seasons because it has been elevated to the unchanging “Eternal Now of God”. So it is now and ever shall be forever.

If you go to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, there you find the Immaculate Heart of Mary. If you go to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, there you will be with all who are devoted to her, worshipping Jesus in an eternal sacrifice of praise. Blessed are you among all believers if you have chosen Holy Mary as the way to go to Jesus. It is the way preferred by the saints.

Antonio is a retired deacon in the Archdiocese of Denver. Last September his wife, Maud, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of cancer. They were told that she didn’t have long to live. Since she is 83 years old, they decided to refuse the chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Last October they were sent to Hospice. They have now been there for 8 months. Antonio’s wife is not experiencing the symptoms of multiple myeloma other than the fact that she cannot move and has to stay in bed all the time. She is also in the last stages of Alzheimer’s disease. You prayers will be appreciated. Antonio spends the entire day with his wife.
