The Church considers marriage a Holy Sacrament and children a divine blessing from the moment of conception. It joyfully awaits them at the Baptismal font, recalling the words of Jesus, “Let the children come to me for of such is the kingdom of God.”
When we begin to understand the mystery of the Sacrament of Marriage and how it is a reflection of the marriage of Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5: 21-33), we can then begin to understand why contraception is intrinsically evil.
