You may participate in your faith inside the church building, but once you leave that building, you must leave your allegiance to your faith behind. And not only must you leave that allegiance behind, you must be willing to publicly embrace ideologies and practices that are exactly the opposite of what your faith teaches, or be penalized.It’s only one word, so it is easy to miss the change; but the difference between worship and religion is enormous.
HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has announced that the federal government is now “at war” with those who disagree with the HHS. We did not choose or desire such a war: but our government has unilaterally imposed war on all citizens who disagree with this Mandate, including Catholics who strive to help others. This violation of our religious liberty and freedom of conscience has been deemed “necessary,” so as to ensure that every citizen has access to abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization, and contraception.
The Supreme Court will shortly render its decision on the constitutionality of the Obama health care plan. One thing is for certain – no matter what the high court decides, the most ardent supporters and most ardent opponents of “Obamacare” are sure to spring into action.
A key supporter is abandoning the Obama camp. The Catholic Health Association has withdrawn its support for Obama’s contraception mandate, which religious groups and First Amendment advocates say violates the Constitution and freedom of conscience.
Although the decision was waited with baited breath by the media, the Supreme Court has delayed its decision on the Affordable Health Care Act. The decision, which is expected to be a pivotal moment in the presidential campaign and the national health care system, has been postponed until the end of this month.
