Vitae Action Weekend Concludes at Ave Maria School of Law 

NAPLES, FL – Pro-Life Leaders, community and law students came together this weekend for the Vitae Action Weekend sponsored by Ave Maria School of Law.      Students and national pro-life leaders organized a series of pro-life events aimed at fostering unity within the pro-life movement and at generating awareness of the issues.

Ave Maria School of Law student organization Lex Vitae worked with members of the Naples Pro-Life Council to organize the events.

The weekend was particularly special because it commemorated the 7th Anniversary of the death of Terri Schindler Schiavo.

Terri Schiavo died from starvation and dehydration on March 31, 2005 after being denied food and water because of a court order.

The pro-life movement is larger than the issue of abortion.  It also includes issues related to the care of the elderly and disabled.    The Vitae Action Weekend was focused on the defense of life from conception to natural death.

Activities included –  Personhood Debate, The Law of Life Summit “2″, 40 Days for Life Closing Ceremony, a Pro-Life 5k, the 2nd Annual Vitae Fest and various pro-life work shops.

Terri Schiavo’s Memorial Mass was held on Friday, March 30 at the Ave Maria Oratory.

Ave Maria School of Law to Host Law of Life Summit “2″
National Pro-life Leaders come to Naples to Defend Life and to Remember Terri Schiavo

NAPLES, FL – Ave Maria School of Law (AMSL) announced today that pro-life leaders from around the country would be converging on Naples for the “Law of Life Summit” – a pro-life action conference spearheaded by third year law student Royce Hood. The event will be Friday, March 30, at the law school’s north Naples campus, and will culminate with a pro-life strategy session at the law library from noon until 2:00 PM.

“Ave Maria School of Law was founded as an institution that respects the sanctity of human life,” said Royce Hood. “The Summit is about bringing together pro-life leaders, community members and students to create measurable and achievable objectives for defending life from conception until natural death.”
