(Delhi) - An NGO has announced that the seven billionth person to be born is a baby girl in Uttar Pradesh called Nargis. But the Philippines claims the record for another girl, Danica May Camacho, in Manila. In reality the seven billion mark can only be reached next year.

The person number seven billion could be Indian, and is a baby girl, but the Philippines are contesting the lead in this race and according to American in reality the figure of seven billion inhabitants of the world’s population will be reached only between March and April next. The announcement of the “seven billionth birth” was made by a non-governmental organization, “Plan International”.

The Indian girl named Nargis was born in a rural hospital in Uttar Pradesh, about 70 km from state capital, Lucknow. Nargis was born at 7.20 local time, her mother is 23 years old and her father 25, and the family lives in a small village, Mall. “Plan International” followed the instructions of the United Nations, that the seven billionth human being would be born in this region Monday, October 31, and for this reason “monitored” the pregnancy of seven women in the region.
