Egypt fears being pulled into Gaza-Israel crisis

Egypt, with a fledgling government led by Hamas’ parent movement, the Muslim Brotherhood, is watching the recent hostilities between Israel and the Gaza Strip with great concern. Sympathy for the Palestinians runs high here in Egypt, but many dread the prospect of being pulled into a war at such a crucial time in their new statehood.

Latest church bombings in Nigeria spur on riots

In the latest outbreak of terrorist violence in Nigeria, three churches were bombed in Kaduna. The bombings spurred on riots in the state capital and prompting a 24-hour curfew. At least 21 people have been killed and at least 100 have been injured. Tensions in the African nation, particularly between the Muslim north and Christian south have risen dramatically sharply.
